COVID-19

HOW WE CAN HELP DURING THE COVID-19 CRISIS

CURRENT INFORMATION

Information on COVID-19 changes daily. Visit our blog for regular updates on our office procedures and links to the latest videos by Dr. Larkin. She is providing regular updates about testing, office operations and answering questions about social distancing via video and through social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube) including a regular Facebook Live event (see our Facebook page for times and details as they may change).

OFFICE PROCEDURES

As of March 26, we continue to ask all patients to CALL (513.760.5511) the office if you are sick. We will triage you over the phone (or video call) to determine if you need to be seen in the office, or if we can treat you via telehealth. To minimize the number of individuals in the office, we have structured our practice so we have one provider physically in the office; others conducting telehealth appointments from their homes.

If you do need to be seen in the office, we will see you, but we will give you an appointment time. To best protect everyone, we are staggering patient visits so we only have one patient at a time in the office. We will ask you to wash your hands and put on a mask when you arrive.

All elective, non-urgent appointments will be rescheduled or provided as telehealth at this time.

ARE YOU OFFERING COVID-19 TESTING? WHO SHOULD BE TESTED?

At this time (March 26) we are offering testing ONLY for appropriate patients who are members of the practice.

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE TESTED IF:
  1. You have no symptoms
  2. You have no symptoms and you think you have been exposed
  3. You have mild symptoms (headache, cough, mild fever) AND you are under 60 AND you have no other underlying health conditions*.            —If you fall into category 3, please call us. We do not need to test you because the treatment/management would be the same whether you test positive or not. Treat your symptoms with rest, fluids and acetaminophen for fever. Please call regardless; we want to monitor your health. If your symptoms become more severe, we want to know.
YOU MIGHT NEED TESTING IF:
  1. You are sick with moderate or severe symptoms (high fever, cough, shortness of breath) AND you test negative for influenza
  2. You are sick with mild symptoms AND you have an underlying medical condition, such as asthma, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, emphysema, etc.
  3. You are sick with symptoms AND you are over 60 years old

You must CALL first to be evaluated and before you can come to the office. This protocol may change as testing may become centralized through the hospital systems. We will keep you apprised as we learn more. In any event, you must CALL the office first to be evaluated before coming to the office.

MEMBERSHIP / NEW APPOINTMENTS

CAN I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT IF I AM NOT A MEMBER OF THE PRACTICE?

We are not seeing patients for one-time urgent visits. Our priority is providing high-quality, comprehensive care. We believe the best care is provided when we have an ongoing relationship with you. In order to provide timely care to new patients during this difficult time, we are accepting new patients, and we have created several affordable plans for telehealth, direct primary care and concierge medicine models.

We do, and always will, accept men patients into the practice.

ARE YOU ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS?

We are accepting new member patients into our Telehealth Plan, Direct Primary Care model (DPC) and concierge plans. Read more about them here.
