Lisa Larkin, M.D. and Associates Awarded Level 3 Certification as a Patient-Centered Medical Home
Certification awarded from the National Committee for Quality Assurance
In January 2011, Lisa Larkin, M.D. and Associates earned the highest level of recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) for adopting a patient-centered medical home (PCMH) model. The Level 3 certification recognizes medical practices that have passed a rigorous, comprehensive review and strive to continuously improve through a systems-based approach to quality and safety. Our practice is believed to be the only practice in Cincinnati without an electronic medical records (EMR) system to achieve Level 3 certification.
This certification is a momentous achievement for us, as our team worked diligently to put the right processes and operations in place that have resulted in improved coordination of care and improved quality of care for our patients, as well as allowing us to forge stronger relationships with our patients.
NCQA Accreditation is a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation process. The Level 3 accreditation is an achievement designated to only a small number of practices nationwide, and very few are able to achieve this without the help of an electronic medical records (EMR) system. Practices that adopt the PCMH model seek to strengthen the physician-patient relationship by working in partnerships between individual patients, their personal providers and when appropriate, the patient’s family.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU AS A PATIENT?
“This certification really reflects our philosophy of providing evidence-based, patient-centered care,” said Dr. Larkin, “which we believe improves the overall health of the patients.” We hope you recognize our commitment to you, our patients and their families, as we strive to foster strong partnerships with you as a way to help you be the healthiest you can be.
