Josefa Rangel, M.D., is an internist and fellowship-trained integrative medicine specialist.
Dr. Rangel specializes in integrative medicine, a practice that combines evidence-based treatments from conventional and alternative medicine to promote whole-person wellness. Her expertise compliments the conventional diagnosis, treatment and preventative services that our primary care practice (Lisa Larkin, M.D., and Associates) provides by integrating complementary and alternative therapies and overall wellness planning.
Originally from Chicago, Dr. Rangel earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University and her medical degree from the Stanford University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of California, San Francisco in 1999 and became board certified that same year. Dr. Rangel recently completed a two-year fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona under the direction of Andrew Weil, M.D., nationally renowned physician and researcher and founder of the field of integrative medicine.
Dr. Rangel is a member of the American College of Physicians and is fluent in Spanish. She enjoys running, yoga, and healthy cooking, and has completed two marathons. She and her husband, Philip Theodosopoulos, M.D., live in Mt. Lookout with their two children, Petra and Sky.
