Cosmetic and Therapeutic Botox®

In-office Botox® treatments for crow’s feet and frown lines now available

Starting in September, our practice will offer Botox® (onabotulinumtoxinA) cosmetic injections for the treatment of frown lines and crow’s feet.

Botox® is a fast, affordable and effective treatment for facial wrinkles. As we age, our skin can be affected by many factors, including hormone loss, cellular changes, collagen loss, sun exposure and more. Wrinkles – especially in our forehead and outer eye area (crow’s feet)—form after contraction of the muscles in these areas due to repeated squinting, frowning, smiling.

Botox® injections work by temporarily blocking the overactive nerve impulses that cause muscle contractions in the face, creating a smoother appearance. Injections take about 15 minutes and are given in our office by one of our trained providers. And watch for Botox Tuesdays—the second Tuesday of each month—when we offer discounted pricing for cosmetic Botox injections.

Botox® for migraines? What you need to know

In addition to offering Botox for treatment of fine lines, wrinkles and crow’s feet, we’re pleased to be able to provide this therapy for patients who suffer from chronic migraines.

Botox® is a prescription medicine that is injected to prevent headaches in adults with chronic migraines who have 15 or more days each month with headache lasting 4 or more hours each day. Data shows that it prevents headaches and migraines before they even start — on average 8 or 9 headache days and migraine/probable migraine days a month (vs 6 to 7 for placebo) at 24 weeks. Suggested treatment is two injection sessions, 12 weeks apart. The injections take about 15 minutes and are done right in our office, by one of our trained providers.

In some cases, Botox® treatments for migraines may be covered by your insurance through a “specialty pharmacy” benefit. If you have health insurance, we will work with you and your plan to determine your coverage benefit.
